Rpg System 1

It's getting really hard to write this description :S the RPG System 1 has gone through so many changes that I don't even know where to start...lets see...

Dates

Right After the finishing system 0 I started to work on this version, so by the start of 2011 I was already working on the analysis of this project. Keep in mind that unlike the system 0 this was treated as a side project...so my progress is bound to be slow. I haven't finished the system so there is no end date yet.

  • Start Date: January 2011
  • Deadline : 31/December/2012*
  • End Date : ---------------
This originally was 2011 but I changed it after the whole "first try" chaos.

First Try

Initially I wanted to create a COMPLETE game based on Final Fantasy 1.After a few months of analysis and design  I started to code it in a programming language called Haxe (talk about hipster...). Then I went for AS3 and a more "light" approach (you can read all about the change here).

This all that remains from my first attempt (Notice that I'm not winning ANY money from this ads...I'm just using mochi right now for the preloader. Why don't I add a preloader myself? You can read all about the hell that is adding an pre-loader in haxe right here.)

Second Try

I created a youtube playlist with all the videos of this stage of the system :). Here they are:

Also all the post that I made regarding this system can be found here.

Objectives

  1. Complete a simple graphical overworld map system.
  2. Complete a simple graphical battle system.

Development Process

Changing my approach was really the best choice. Even though I only worked on the system once or twice a month, I'm was getting A LOT done (at least compared to my first try).

Ok since the second try is currently in development...I'll stop typing right now!
